- An app can be useful in so many different ways depending on what type of app it is and the app i am doing is an entertainment or q games app, here are some examples of the most used apps:

• Games are used to play for entertainment.
• News/Weather used to what is happening.
• Maps are used for directions or locations.
• Social networking to get in touch. 
• Music to listen to when needed or entertain.
• Entertainment/Food info about the place
• Banking for online financing. 
• Sports for keeping u with scores and news.
• Productivity for help with any goals.
• Shopping online/for viewing from home.
• Videos to stay entertained not just on TV.
• Communication to stay social with friends.
• Travel for info about countries and briefs.
• Other are apps that are used differently.

THE APP THAT I AM CHOOSING TO MAKE IS THE ONE AT THE TOP OF THE LIST WHICH IS GAMES SINCE STUDENTS ENJOY THOSE KIND OF APPS THE MOST OVER ANYTHING



hardware:

• Intel-based Mac
• Xcode 

software:

• Adobe Photoshop (or picture editing software)
• Logic Pro (or sound editing software with sfx)

Advantages: the advantages of an app is that it is really easy to make and it need very limited equipment like hardware and software, it is a really entertaining software to use and it is quite interesting to use most of the time.

Disadvantages: the disadvantages of an app is that it isn't really unique and it is not as interesting anymore, also an app can get boring after a while and it usually stops getting used, also most people make apps so its nothing that could stand out

- The bookmark light is a bookmark which is used to mark a page in a book or anything to keep track of where you left the page once you come back to the book, it will help you continue where you started from. The great thing about this bookmark is that is has a light which will let you see if it is dark or if the words are too small, it will let you read much more clearly. 

The materials are:

- Scissors (HARDWARE)

- Pencil/Pen (HARDWARE)

- 3 coin cell battery's (each 3V) (HARDWARE)

- Glue stick (HARDWARE)

- Tape (HARDWARE)

- Ruler (HARDWARE)

- Card stock (any color and size) (HARDWARE)

- Super bright SMD LED's (These are interchangeable with c hibitronics circuit stickers which I will explain how to use later along with a circuit scribe) (HARDWARE)

- Copper tape (This is interchangeable with a circuit scribe pen or other conductive ink) (HARDWARE)

- Print-out of the battery box which is attached (preferably on card stock, but printer paper should be fine) (HARDWARE)

List of optional materials:

- Wires and soldering iron

- Battery snap and a normal 9V (if you don't want to make the battery box)

- Origami paper

There are no software really needed in this particular project since it is more of a handy and out of computer piece of work but still uses I.C.T

Advantages: the advantages of the bookmark light is that it is a very unique and interesting project to be able to make and it is very handy. Also it helps you read in the dark and it marks where you were in a book, magazine etc. 

Disadvantages: the disadvantages of the bookmark light is that need way to much equipment and hardware for it to be built, also it is a very hard project to do because it would take a lot of time to make and it requires some sort of skill to be able to put it all together perfectly. 

Stop motion animation is a video basically made out of pictures, it is made to show as if it is a person moving by itself but it actually is not so it is being manipulated as if it is moving. the context is basically individual photos creating the illusion of movement as a continuous sequence.


The materials are:

- Pencil (HARDWARE)

- Paper (HARDWARE)

- Device (for taking pictures) (SOFTWARE)

- Laptop (for editing) (SOFTWARE)

STEP 1:

draw all the pictures for the stop motion animation for each step

STEP 2:

take pictures of all the drawings in order

STEP 3:

put it onto the laptop 

STEP 4:

edit it all together in formation of a video

Advantages:  the advantages of this is that its highly popular because of its uniqueness and how you can make a video out of pictures which cant move on it own. The animation doesn't need much equipment, just 4 items.

Disadvantages: the disadvantages of this is that it requires alot of time and hard work to do as creating an effective stop motion animation takes skill and is much more difficult. For each small movement it takes about 15 photos to create so for a whole animation it could take around 800 photos.

IN CONCLUSION THE PROJECT FOR THE TECH FAIR THAT I HAVE DECIDED TO MAKE IS THE BOOKMARK LIGHT. EVEN IF IT TAKES A LOT OF HARD WORK AND EQUIPMENT IT IS WORTH IT BECAUSE THE BOOKMARK LIGHT IS VERY UNIQUE AND INTERESTING I THINK PEOPLE WOULD LOVE TO TRY IT. IT MAY INSPIRE PEOPLE TO MAKE ONE OF THEIR OWN BECAUSE IT IS VERY HANDY, SINCE IT HELPS YOU READ IN THE DARK OR MARK WHERE YOU LAST STOPPED IN A BOOK. THE REASON I DIDN'T CHOOSE TO MAKE THE APP IS BECAUSE IT ISN'T VERY UNIQUE AND EVERYONE ALWAYS DOES AN APP, IT IS WAY TOO EASY TOO MAKE WHICH THEREFORE DOESN'T NEED THAT MANY I.C.T SKILLS. I DIDN'T CHOOSE TO DO THE STOP MOTION ANIMATION BECAUSE SINCE IT HAS BECOME SO POPULAR A LOT OF STUDENT HAVE BEEN DOING IT SO IT WONT STAND OUT IF I WOULD DO THAT FOR MY PROJECT IN THE TECH FAIR. I AM PRETTY SURE STUDENTS WOULD PREFER THE BOOKMARK LIGHT OVER THE APP BECAUSE ITS A NEW IDEA AND THEY WANT TO EXPERIENCE IT.

Introduction

The tech fair is about every student expressing their ideas physically in a fair. In the tech fair they will be judged by the judges who are the seniors and the staff and then they will choose the winner. Even if you do not win it is a really enjoyable experience because a lot of companies come to sell products and give us a chance to win prizes. Overall it is a great experience to be a part of and it gets better every year so i have set a high standard for every next year. There are also many games to try and competitions, where you can win amazing prizes.
